Measuring Square Foot Area
21 January 2010 at 1:20pm
I am having issues figuring out how to open a CAD drawing and calculate the square footage of the area or areas within a drawing. I have looked at the help section but have not seen anything on how to do this. Any ideas, Raymond rmullen1@hotmail.com

This question is a bit vague. When you draw a closed entity, the area is given on the right of the screen in the parameters box, if the entity is selected. This area is in drawing units and you have to decide when you start a drawing what length a unit represents, be it metre, foot or millimetre etc. If you need to find the area of a space between entities, then you will have to draw a polyline that exactly fits the area of interest, select it and the area will appear in the parameters box. Hope this helps, but you may mean something quite different and not so basic!
